I strongly believe that protecting LGBTQ+ rights means protecting basic human rights, dignity, safety, freedom, and equality under the law. No person should face discrimination, violence, or barriers to opportunity simply for being who they are or loving who they love. When in Congress I will do everything to defend and expand federal and state protections that guarantee equal treatment in housing, employment, healthcare, education, and public spaces. This includes passing and enforcing comprehensive nondiscrimination laws, safeguarding access to gender-affirming healthcare, protecting LGBTQ+ youth in schools, and standing firmly against hate crimes and political scapegoating.
I believe that protecting LGBTQ+ rights means affirming families, defending bodily autonomy, respecting correct identities, and ensuring that no one is erased by government policy. Equality cannot be conditional, delayed, or debated because it must be guaranteed under our laws. We cannot leave anyone behind. When LGBTQ+ people are safe, free, and empowered, our entire community thrives in strength.
