I am committed to fighting for comprehensive immigration reform that ensures a fair path to citizenship, protects families, strengthens workers’ rights, and upholds human dignity. Treating immigrants fairly is not just the right thing to do, it is essential for building stronger, safer, and more just communities.
Too many seniors are being priced out of the communities they helped build. Rent, groceries, and healthcare keep rising, but Social Security checks are not keeping up. For families across my district, that monthly benefit is the difference between stability and crisis. I’ve seen firsthand how deeply our parents, grandparents, veterans, and people with disabilities rely on it just to survive. That is why protecting Social Security is personal to me.
I will fight to block any cuts, stop privatization, and expand benefits so seniors can truly live with dignity here in San Diego, not just scrape by. After a lifetime of work, no one should be forced out of their home or into poverty. In one of the most expensive cities in the country, protecting Social Security isn’t just smart policy, it’s a moral obligation. I will always fight to protect and strengthen Social Security, not cut it, not privatize it, not gamble it away. Our parents, grandparents, people with disabilities, and future generations deserve security they can count on. I will stand up to anyone who threatens it, because keeping our promise to seniors is not optional, it is our responsibility.
