Once in Congress, I will protect and strengthen Medicare for generations to come. I know from experience in taking care of an elder sibling what Medicare means to families. It means life-saving doctor visits, affordable prescriptions, dignity in aging, and peace of mind for loved ones who worry every day about medical costs. Without Medicare, too many seniors would be forced to choose between groceries and medicine.
That is unacceptable in the richest nation in the world, yet today, Medicare is under constant threat, from efforts to privatize it, to budget cuts that risk shrinking benefits, raising costs, and limiting care. I strongly oppose and will fight any attempt to turn Medicare into a for-profit system that puts corporate profits over patients.
